Silvio's Brazilian BBQ is Southern California's favorite destination for real, "backyard BBQ" style Brazilian cuisine.

From catering and special events food vending to full-service dining, Silvio's is dedicated to serving up mouth-watering flavorful food in a family-friendly environment.

The company was founded in 2003 by long time friends Doug Howarth and "Grill Master" Silvio Correa. Silvio's began as a catering company that specialized in authentic family-style BBQ, but soon expanded to food vending at sporting events, street festivals, and music festivals throughout California.

Silvio's is proud to offer its customers friendly service, and fresh, flavorful food with a unique flare. Whether you're diving into a plate of mouth-watering BBQ Chicken, or sipping on a Brazilian-infused specialty drink, you can be sure that Silvio himself has approved the quality, flavor, and feel so that you get an authentic experience.

Today Silvio's Brazilian BBQ owns and operates a bar & grill located on the Hermosa Beach Pier, caters for hundreds of special events a year, and supports multiple charitable causes, world-renowned MMA and AVP athletes through partnerships and sponsorships, and continues to be an important trendsetter in Southern California's food and restaurant industry.

About the Founders


Silvio Correa

Originally from the "Ipiranga" neighborhood of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Silvio Correa has been grilling up his famous BBQ since the young age of 14. An avid surfer, Silvio remembers spending long days on the beach followed by late afternoon back yard parties where he would serve up his BBQ specialties to friends and family. The son of a hard working tailor, his father often stated: "Silvio, you cannot live your life surfing and bbq'ing for your friends, you need to find a real job. Life isn't supposed to be fun all the time." Not to be dissuaded by his father's words, Silvio continued to pursue his passions, perfecting his skills as a true "grill master."

In 2000, Silvio left Brazil for Southern California to explore American culture with several good friends who had already settled in the South Bay. With his limited English, Silvio made his way working several odd jobs, always staying focused on his dream of opening his own catering company or restaurant. A short time after moving to California, Silvio met Doug Howarth, a local entrepreneur who had set his sights on opening his own catering business. Realizing the potential of a mutually beneficial partnership, Doug and Silvio embarked on a journey to provide authentic, quality food and genuine, friendly service; and Silvio's Brazilian BBQ was born. At last, Silvio had proved his father wrong: you can do what you love, and work can be fun.

Doug Howarth

Doug Howarth, who was born in raised in upstate New York, has worked in the restaurant business his entire life. Although he does not have formal training as a professional chef, growing up in a busy family kitchen (and a having huge appetite) gave him the motivation toteach himself the basics of cooking which he has expanded upon through his adult career. After graduating from college in 1996, Doug waved goodbye to New York and relocated to the South Bay area in Southern California to pursue his dreams of becoming a well-known restaurateur.

Over the next decade, Doug would gain professional experience in restaurant management skills, marketing, sales, and promotions. During his ample time dealing with all facets of the food and restaurant industry, Doug realized that catering was a viable part of any restaurant business, and began making preparations to open a catering concept. In the process of developing his business plan, Doug met Silvio Correa at a friend's backyard BBQ where the native Brazilian was happily and methodically grilling away. "The second I tasted Silvio's BBQ I knew we could turn his talent into a successful restaurant concept. I didn't even know the guy but I knew we had something. It was different, exceptional." Later that year, and after developing a friendship, they launched Sivlio's Brazilian BBQ as a catering company. After five years, and thousands of BBQ's later, the dynamic duo will expand their catering and food vending company with a bar & grill concept anchored at the world famous Pier Promenade in Hermosa Beach, California.

Fernando Fayzano

Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Fernando Fayzano was one of the original investors in Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ, and is currently CEO of the FFM Trading Company based in Torrance, California: a company that imports, distributes and develops Brazilian products for sale in the U.S. market. In addition to his primary role with FFM, Fernando is a real estate investor who takes pride in choosing high quality, sustainable investments that offer both short and long term positive return.   Like any true Brazilian, Fernando Jiu Jitsu, surfing, travel, and of course BBQ.
